Got my copy of Ben Folds' new album "Way to Normal" in the mail yesterday. (Thank you, pre-order!) It's another winner...doesn't quite reach the magic of "Rockin' the Suburbs," but so far I'm liking it better than "Songs for Silverman."

Not hard to beat "Silverman," which was a steaming pile of you-can-imagine-what. I saw Ben on Friday night, and really liked most of the new stuff he played. Did not, however, like the setlist for the show: played nothing but new stuff for the first hour plus, then played through 4 oldies, followed by a new one to cap the encore. The audience was mostly bored -- lots of people going to get beer. Ben needed to work the audience more & pepper in old stuff with the new. Also, is it bad that I enjoyed the "fake" versions of "Normal" songs often more than the proper ones?
