Time to begin those pesky year-end lists

Now that the naughty and nice lists are out of the way, it's time for me to get on board with putting up the obligatory "Best of 2006" lists. The first comes by way of a new edition of "Music Bickering with Sam and Mandel." It's our last one of the year and it features us putting the bickering aside (GASP!). Sam and I each give our picks for the Top 3 CDs of 2006.

I'll have the rest of my music picks for the year tomorrow.

In the mean time, I've posted up some various pics from 2006 on my photo album. Just click on the "Random 2006" link for the update set of pics.

And finally, in honor of the recently departed "Godfather of Soul," I gotta show you this Youtube find I uncovered last night. FREE JAMES BROWN! It's two clips of "Soul on the Rocks," from the CBS one-off, "What's Alan Watching?"

Anybody have a DVD or VHS copy of this whole special? I loved watching this when it originally aired. Oh, "Gandhi on Ice!"

This one's a killer...

It's another week, so it's another installment of "Music Bickering with Sam & Mandel" featuring two friends doing what they do best - argue about music. This time, we take a look at The Killers' "Sam's Town." Do Sam & I FINALLY agree on something??
Click here for the downloadable version of the video. Enjoy!

Something "meaty" to chew on...

It's the 2nd edition of "Music Bickering with Sam & Mandel!"

This time, we take a look at Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose!"

You can get a downloaded version as well by clicking here. This second edition also features me doing my worst Jennifer Hudson...just in time for the premiere of "Dreamgirls." Woo-hoo!

Bicker?...I hardly know her!

And now...it's time for a brand new series of video podcasts. It's "Music Bickering with Sam & Mandel."

My friend Sam has a long-running blog where he often shares his thoughts on music. You may have seen his comments on this blog.

And as you have seen, our opinions on music don't often agree. In fact for over decade, we've been getting into countless arguments about what's good and what's not in music...to the point where other people's lives have been endangered! But that story's for another blog.

While Sam and I were in Florida for Thanksgiving, we taped a series of lively "he said, he said" debates about some of this year's notable releases. Here is the first of the four podcasts:

The topic...Scissor Sisters' "Ta-Dah."
