A taxing blog

Ahh...What to speak of this blog...

Well, earlier this week, I took a trip to Atlanta for the big NCTA cable convention. It's a big gathering of cable networks, similar in scale to NATPE. We brought "Reality Remix" there on Monday and did the show on location there. While we were there we got interviews with Diana DeGramo, Ryan Starr, Morgan Fairchild, and Oksana Baiul (!!). What amazed me was the scale of the booths that the big companies put up. Quite a lot of work went into them and it showed. The last time I was at a convention of this size was NATPE back in 2001. Fun, fun stuff...

During my down time in Atlanta, I got a chance to meet up with Will. And I finally got to meet Will's brother Wes and Wes's wife Cathy. I've technically known Wes longer since I had E-mailed him years ago through his band's website, but thanks to that pesky thing called distance, it was only until now that we met in person. It was a great dinner and fun times. It's always cool when you can find three other people who can readily quote the "Today's Special" theme. Makes you wanna say hocus pocus alimagocus!

Capped off the trip to Atlanta with some lunch at the Chik-Fil-A at the CNN Center. I HAVE to take advantage of those Chik-Fil-A opportunities when they come...waffle fries and a chicken sammich? OOH, it's so good...

The Queen-themed episode of "American Idol" was interesting...probably the only episode this season where I had heard all the songs sung before. "Innuendo?" VERY, very obscure song...And wait...no "Flash's Theme?!?" No "Invisible Man?" No "Radio Ga Ga?"

And if you haven't been watching this season's "Amazing Race," you're really missing out. Last Wednesday's episode featured one of those legs that made you realize why the show has won the Emmy so many times. And BJ and Tyler getting lost?!? YIPES...Especially after seeing the preview for next week's episode. There has to be a non-elimination leg coming up soon...

My friend Adam's back in L.A. after a leaving town for a four-year stint in his hometown in Massachusetts! Let the tormenting resume! Seriously though, it's good to have him back in town...

Think about this one...A "Gimme a Break" movie with...Mo'Nique...just ponder that one for a second...then throw in George Wendt as chief...or better yet...John Goodman...again...just think about...got it?...OK...Good...
