WOW...

As I get to bed this evening...I've had a chance to step back and realize something...

In less than 48 hours, a new cable network will be launching and I will have had a part in it...The weeks, days, and long, long hours of work are finally going to be unleashed to millions of homes...EEE!

And to think...just six years ago, I was running around a college campus in Cambridge with a Hi8 camera in hand taping begging my classmates to be in comedy sketches about "Star Wars" nerds trying to figure out a way to scam "Phantom Menace" tickets from charities...

It's a constant reminder of how lucky I've been and why I never take anything for granted...

Oh...and "Revenge of the Sith..." not bad at all...by far the most enjoyable of the prequel trilogies...

My bananas on TV

Well, the fruits of my labor are finally hitting air in a few days...bananas actually...that is, GAME SHOW MOMENTS GONE BANANAS, the last project I produced for
FremantleMedia before I left the company in April.

GAME SHOW MOMENTS GONE BANANAS is a series of specials highlighting the funniest moments from game show history.

The first of these five specials debuts on SATURDAY, MAY 21st on VH1, with many a rerun, so you'll have plenty of chances to see it. Here's a link to the list of airdates and airtimes:

"Game Show Moments Gone Bananas" Schedule for Episode 1

Essentially a new special will air every Saturday at 10 PM (9 PM central).

And coming up next week...an even BIGGER unveiling...more on that later... :-)

I'm still here!

Wow...it's been a long while since I've posted...Lauching a new network takes up quite a bit of time...but alas, I have some to blog a little about what I've been up to aside from that...

- Saw Elton John's concert at the Arrowhead Pond last Saturday night. In spite of being a huge Elton John fan, this was the first time I'd seen a purely Elton John concert. The only other time I saw him was back in '94 when he toured with Billy Joel. It was quite cool. And what I found interesting was that he opened up with EIGHT songs from his new album "Peachtree Road." The song actually had a bit more kick live and it was quite a bold move to begin the set with so much new material. My friend Tim whom I went with to the concert put it best when he said, "It's like new Elton is opening up for old Elton."

- Speaking of piano men, yay for the new Ben Folds album, "Songs for Silverman!" I was taken aback at how mellow it is, but it's really grown on me. "Trusted" and "Landed" are my faves at the moment. And a YAY-er for his show with Rufus Wainwright at the Wiltern in August. Hooray!

- Got to attend a special salute to "The Amazing Race" at the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences. It was awesome. Dennis Miller moderated the Q & A and Phil Keoghan was there along with the producers of the show and a number of the racers. After the show I got to meet Brian and Greg and Lynn and Alex, all very very nice guys. Once things settle down after the network launches, I'll post some pics from the event up here.

- I wanna go to Disneyland!!!!

- It looks like another big change for me is around the corner...It looks like I'm [cue Billy Joel] moving out. Ted and Larry want to give living on their own a shot, so this summer I'm going to be looking for a new place. Dunno whether I'll be living on my own or with a new roomie. But in any case, another chapter of my life closes.

So those are pretty much the big highlights of the past month or so aside from work. I can't believe the network launch is around the corner. I've gotten so wrapped up with the steps to getting what i need to do done, that I haven't had time to step back and see what this is all heading towards.

Speaking of which...I need to get ready to head to work...After the 24th, I'll hopefully have more time to blog. Until then...
