The deluge

Things are picking up a LOT at the office to the point where I'm feeling the onset of Stretch Armstrong mode especially if this one project goes along as anticipated...Can't really say too much about it yet, but it could be big...

Finally saw "Kill Bill" last night. I dunno what it was but I had to bust out laughing during the huge fight between Uma and Lucy's henchmen. Can't wait to see the next one.

After all these months, it's finally hit me that Happy Tree Friends is a fuzzier version of "Itchy and Scratchy" from "The Simpsons."

Forgot to mention in the last blog post that I received an early copy of a new "Family Feud" DVD game (a la "Scene It" and the "Trivial Pursuit DVD" game). Purists will probably balk that it's not quite the "Feud" we all know and love but from a "party game" standpoint it's a lot of fun. A bunch of us played it after dinner Sunday night and it was VERY easy to set up. Even better, the game played very quickly. We were able to knock off a couple of games in less than an hour.

As promised, here's a new picture...

It's a full stage shot of the live "Price is Right" show in Kansas City. As you can see, while we still only have two doors, it's a bit bigger than the stage that was used in Reno. More to come later!

Oh yeah, I have a blog...

Whoops...I guess I've forgotten to update this thing here. Heh...I've been wrapped up with, ya know, this and that...

Anyhoo, I think it's about time to resurrect this site and put something new up here...

Had a pretty good weekend...Played piano for a friend of a friend's wedding service. It was my first "paying" gig in over five years. And it's the first time I've played anything classical in public in almost a decade. Things went very well and it was nice to revisit that side of my brain again and while getting a little extra cash in the process. So, if you're in the L.A. area and have a wedding or know of anybody who needs a piano player for their next event, drop me a line. It'd be cool having a little side gig to break up the predominance of TV in my life nowadays.

But alas, there was more musical performing last week when I played at my friends Murad and Aaron's Burbstock II party last Saturday. Got to unveil three new compsitions of mine with a couple of them accompanied by my "backing section" on my iPod by way of Apple's new sequencing program, GarageBand. It went pretty well...not my best performance...but nobody threw anything at me, so that's a plus. :-) THAT'S actually one of the things I'd like to do more of this year...perform my pop songs more often and maybe even...(drum roll if I had a drummer)...form a band. Not sure the best way to go about it, though. Any suggestions are welcome.

Went to Kansas City a couple of weeks ago to help launch the new "Price is Right Live!" show over there. We have a bigger stage there and brought over "It's in the Bag" in place of "Plinko" in the game lineup (the change was warranted by the differing gaming regulations) and it's looking like it's going to be a hit there like it was in Reno. I'll put up some pics from my trip there as soon as I get around to it.

Personal life is going great...Doug and I are almost at the four-month mark. This is the longest-lasting relationship I've been in since moving out here in '99 and it's been the best. Really couldn't ask for more in that arena... :-D

This month is "Clean Out My Closet" month (insert joke here). I'm going to clear out the junk from in there and if I've got enough of resellable stuff, I might do a little garage sale come May. Anybody in the market for a digital answering machine?

God bless ABC for tonight's "Nick and Jessica Variety Hour." God damn ABC for beating me to the punch with this idea. One of the first things I told my friends when "Newlyweds" premiered is that Nick and Jessica are the next Sonny and Cher and that they should have their own variety show. Grrrr...

The new pricing game I created for "Price" ("Half-Off") is still on its way. The upcoming prime-time specials and other things have pushed the premiere back a bit, but there is still a chance it could be played before the season is up. Cross your fingers!

Check out the band Spymob, especially if you're in Steely Dan. They're kind of a harder edged Steely Dan. Another band I've started listening to again is Nada Surf (thanks Eileen!). "Inside of Love" is a wonderful song.

Ahh...it feels good doing this again. I should do this more often...
