A Whopper of a freakout
So I'm in Santa Barbara for a work conference and while I'm in my hotel room killing time before dinner, I see a Burger King commercial on the television. It's a new commercial about having breakfast with the king...Yes, THE Burger King. If you haven't seen it, this guy in bed gets served a double Croissan'wich by this guy dressed up as the Burger King...but the Burger King has this plastic burger king face. It ends with the two of them lying in bed next to each other while the guy chomps down on his double Croissan'wich. It's wayyyyyy wayyyyyy wayyyyyy creepy. The plastic Burger King looks soulless and, if I recall correctly, doesn't say a word at all. Apparently, it's an attempt to revive the king and I guess it's their answer to the Jack character from Jack in the Box. But the thing is...Jack looks like a nice guy whom you want to hang out with. New frozen face Burger King looks like he'd devour you and turn you into Whopper meat at the blink of an eye.
I dunno why I had never caught this commercial before. Ted and Tim were referring to it Tuesday night when we got into a whole discussion about fast food mascots. Eventually, we got to the topic of McDonaldland and I came up with a theory as to what the hell Grimace is supposed to be. Here it is...
Grimace is the face you make when you're taking a dump after you just ate a Big Mac. That, my friends, is Grimace.

Amen to that. That Burger King commercial is creepy. Very creepy. It does for Burger King what Alfred Hitchcock did for ventriloquist dummies.

I followed Dave's link .
Yes, this is a disturbing commercial - I can't stand to look at it.
We always though that a Big Mac Attack was what happened after you ate one. The Grimace was a good one!
