The weekend so far...

Busy weekend...Friday night, I went to a birthday party at the Fat Fish in West Hollywood. Fun, fun times. There were lots of people. I met a couple of new people and reunited with some whom I hadn't seen in months. The fact that I knew some people at the party was mere coincidence. In fact, going into the party, I had thought that the only person I knew there was going to be the birthday boy. It proves yet again that the gay internet world in LA is a small one. Friendster is seeming to help though in showing where the connections lie. :-)

DF, NR, and I caught the first taping of the new season of "Family Feud." Good stuff. We hung around for the first two shows of taped that day and they were solid shows. It was great to see a lot of the returning staffers and crew there. There have been a number of changes, one of which I know will please a lot of the game show fans out there. The show now tapes at Tribune Studios (aka the KTLA studios and aka the studios where Whammy!, Russian Roulette, Let's Make Deal 2003, and Greed taped). It seemed like the new theme and cues were back (the non-classic one)...not sure why though. But the most major change...the game is now played to 300 points: single, single, double, triple. Three strikes every round. SUCH a big improvement. I really felt more invested in watching the game and following each question with this. The games play so much better. And it's hardcore classic rules in regards to scores on steals. That is, a family that steals a question doesn't get the points for the answer the "stole" with. Richard seems to be loosening up a bit. In fact, I was having a major Richard Dawson flashback with one particular family interview. I believe though that what I saw were the first two shows of the "B" episodes in double-run markets.

After the taping, DF, JA, TB, LL, and I went over to KL's for his moving-away party. It's not that far of a moving away, but it was one last excuse to have a pool party at his place before the summer comes to an end. Later that evening, I hung out with JB and watched "Igby Goes Down."

Oh and my latest project...I've realized that I don't have a regular "physical" routine in my life. I think that I'm going to try to get into the habit of playing some tennis. This was inspired by a conversation I had with AJ before "Sneaux" the other night. The trick is finding a place to play and getting a racquet...Start placing bets on whether this latest idea comes to fruitition and if it does, how long it will last. PLACE BETS NOW!

Finally...Lionel Richie rocks... :-)
