Golden rule

Saw "Rules of Attraction" tonight. It was ok. It seemed like an R-rated version of your typical WB college soap but with characters that were more mentally unstable. The big highlights were a couple of left-field cameos, a really good soundtrack, and Ian Somerhalder. Gawd, that man is gorgeous. He so beautiful it hurts.

There were a number of really good moments in the film, but I had this empty-feeling after watching it. Maybe it was the fact that there really weren't any characters you could sympathize with. Or maybe it was the fact that James Van Der Beek's giant forehead is even more off-putting on the big screen. Ted nicknamed his thespianic method: "brow acting." Oooh...he's going to furrow his brow to make him turn into REALLY evil Dawson...oooooh!

Did a little browsing through Amoeba Records after the movie. Tried to find the soundtrack, but it wasn't there. I'm always fascinated by the lunch box collection they have about the cashier's counter. I mean, they've got lunch boxes to Welcome Back Kotter, the Popples, and MR. MERLIN!!! Me want, me want, me want...Actually, if you can't get me the lunch boxes, Ian Somerhalder will suffice. :-)
